The National Association of Emergency and Fire Officials’ Legislative Committee will meet for its quarterly meeting on Tuesday, March 11, live via Zoom.

Committee Chair Marvin Hill, of the Illinois Association of Fire Protection Districts, will call the meeting to order at approximately noon ET / 9 a.m. PT, with a committee roll call and welcoming of guests – including new dual district members of the American Association of Special Districts.

Of note, the Committee will get an update current federal legislative issues, receive updates on tracked and supported legislation, and consider additions to the NAEFO Legislative Platform to:

• Support for programs to improve water infrastructure for firefighting
• Coordinate applied strategies for firefighting on federal lands and coordinating with local firefighting agencies
• Highlight the importance of mobile integrated mental health services as an element of community risk reduction.
